What are the benefits of piano playing?

 

There are so many excellent reasons for studying the piano. Scientific research is continuously showing how learning a musical instrument can have incredibly positive effects on our lives - whatever our age. The skills you learn to develop as a pianist and musician are transferable to everyday contexts, whether at work, shool or home...

How can I help you to achieve this?
 

My aim as a teacher is to inspire you with my passion for the piano and music, nurture your ability and talent, as well as encourage and develop your own love of music-making.

Whatever your age and ability, I will constantly help to expand your musicality and technique by introducing you to lots of music, developing your aural awareness (listening skills), nurturing and improving your personal skills of concentration, commitment, and perseverence, and in doing so, hopefully ensure that the enjoyment and satisfaction you feel will spread into many other areas of your life!

 
 

What do I offer? One-to-one piano lessons from an experienced and qualified professional musician
  Lessons on a beautiful Boston Steinway Grand Piano in the relaxed and comfortable surroundings of my home in Chesham
  A course of teaching unique to each individual pupil
  Initial consultation to plan the best course of action for the future
   

Who are my students past and present? Adult and Child Beginners (some same family parent and child!)
  Intermediate students
  Advanced students (through to Diploma level)
  Individual Advanced lessons and coaching
  Adult students (of all standards and ages!)
